In the 10th Century, the Chola dynasty rules prosperously across South India, under the reign of Sundara Chozhar. His sons, Prince Aditha Karikalan and Arunmozhi Varman are mighty successful in their conquering for the Chola Empire in Kanchi and Srilanka. Two sinister conspiracies are unfolding against the Chola Kingdom. A group of devote Pandya soldiers' scheme to avenge their King Veerapandyan, who was slain in the battlefield by the Chola Crown Prince, Aditha Karikalan. And parallel to this, in the dead of the night a group of royal chieftains of the Chola kingdom come together secretly with the agenda to usurp the throne from Aditha Karikalan and place his uncle Madhuranthakan as king. Leading this mutiny is the Chola treasurer and minister of finance, Periya Pazhuvettarayar. Crown Prince Aditha Karikalan sends his friend Vanthiyathevan to warn the Emperor and his daughter, Princess Kundhavai hears the news of the conspiracy, she sends Vandhiyathevan to Sri Lanka to bring Arunmozhi Varman back to India immediately. The Empereor Sundara Chozhar is manipulated by Periya Pazhuvettarayar to warn the Emperor and his daughter, Princess Kundhavai of the impending danger that besieges the Chola kingdom. When Kundhavai hears the news of the conspiracy, she sends Vandhiyathevan to Sri Lanka to to bring Arunmozhi Varman back to India immediately. The Emperor Sundara Chozhar is manipulated by Periya Pazhuvettarayar to send a ship to arrest Arunmozhi and bring him back to the capital. But the real person behind this manipulation is the enchanting Nandhini, wife of the old Periya Pazhuvettarayar. It’s now a race against time for the Chola Princes to win the battle against the wrath of the Pandyas, the enraged army of the Rashtrakutas, the powerful Pazhuvettarayar’s betrayal and in the case of Aditha Karikalan, the battle against his heart and the vengeful Nandhini.


As the movie goes on the story tuns interesting and keep you hooked to the seat.  Direction wise we will surely tell MANIRATNAM still has the that magical touch on movie making skill and he does not fail to impress you. Vikram roars and has done a excellent job on his character part and he looks powerful and dignified. AISHWARYA RAIBACHCHAN and TRISHA both has a major roles and both shines in every scene and given a flawless performance. JAYAM RAVI and KARTHI does their part perfectly well and both have succeeded in delivering what is needed from their character. 

And the special mention to the BGM which captures the essence of the virtues of these characters honor, bravery, courage and sorrow which is sure to give the chills.
